We all have a story to tell…. and all of our stories have gravitas.

So, what is the setting to MY story?

I am an artist at heart, closet introvert, wordsmith, and lover of Christ who resides in beautiful, Southern Illinois with my husband and six children. While I’m mostly parenting my kids, -honestly now, we have SIX children- I also strive to faithfully serve my church and community and write when I get the opportunity.

I am a classical teacher, turned homeschool mama, who loves gardening and all things “homestead” (Though I currently live in town… That’s ok, right?) As with most large families, I am always cooking and love {TO EAT} good home cooked meals as well as minister to others through food. I have a deep love of art in all its mediums, but especially textiles and photography. While I am an avid reader of the Classics, I will never turn down a good dystopian tale.

Most recently, and without the aid of counseling, I have come to terms with my love of a good lap cat and can even admit my amusement at their standoffish personalities….but, to each their own. And yet, as I write this, the newest addition to our family comes as a cute little Toy Aussiedoodle named Maggie, a paradox to be sure.

I have a long history of performance in music, art, and public speaking which has produced both awards and unique opportunities, but my real passion is found in discipleship. It is my great joy to see others grow in their love of God and the scriptures by learning to cultivate spiritual disciplines and sound hermeneutics.

Are you ready to grow together?

Whether you have come for the purpose of growing in Christ, a free homeschool activity, or an easy weekday meal, my hope is that you will leave feeling filled, loved, and encouraged.

Peace be with you,

Melanie
